Chocolate Box Exchange Letter

healygHi! I'm HealyG (Healy on AO3 and everywhere but here) and this is my letter for Chocolate Box 2016. I'm pretty tired right now, so I'll just post my general likes and dislikes for now. Later I'll hopefully move all my requests and prompts over here so it's all in one place. Okay, that's all done. I might add some more prompts later but don't count on it.
Fic Likes: Comedy, action, fake documents, mysteries, humor, mysterious places, heartwarming junk, humor based on people acting like jerks (hey! I can like two things), wordplay/puns, weird junk, character studies, hypocrite humor, show-within-a-show stuff, humor about someone who blithely misunderstands the obvious, characters revealing a surprising side of themselves, mystery symbolism.
Art Likes: Comedy, action, heartwarming junk, weird junk, bright colors (if there are any colors), clean lines, cartoony faces, comics of any kind, mystery symbolism, hidden jokes.
DNW: Noncon/dubcon, incest, explicit sexual content, physical/sexual abuse, graphic violence, and implied sex for underage ships.
Lupin III
I love this dumb thiefy show! I love these dumb thiefy guys! I love their dumb thiefy antics! Let's get down to brass tacks!
Lupin & Jigen: I love their loyalty to each other, and the fact that they realize they'll stick together through foul and fair weather, so they might as well live with it. Maybe they can get into (and out of) a jam, or maybe you prefer to show some downtime between heists. (My favorite episode featuring these two is The Target is 555 Meters, by the way. You can find it under episode 148 of the second series on Crunchroll.)
Lupin & Zenigata: I like the weird respect they have for each other, how Lupin, in his own way, looks out for Pops, and vice versa. Maybe something forces them to team up, like even badder guy? Or maybe they just have a battle of wits. Whatever's coolest to you!
Earthbound
h, how much I love this game. I've been a fan since I was a kid! I love its gentle warmth and humor, its quirky cast of characters, and a whole bunch of other stuff.
Jeff/Paula: I saw this pop up in the relationship tags field when I was nominating and found it so intriguing I had to request it. I actually think they could have a lot of chemistry together, what with them both being pretty smart and all. Maybe one of them has a crush on the other they're scared to confess? Maybe Paula tries to teach Jeff some PSI abilities? Go nuts! Just don't bash Ness, okay?
Jeff & Ness: I really think these two would have kind of an odd couple relationship, with Jeff nervous and shy and Ness more outgoing and upbeat. You can do something about bonding during their downtime, or maybe how they deal with Paula being kidnapped during their trip to Fourside. Are they scared without her? (I know I am, I just lost my best damage dealer.)
Ness & Paula & Jeff & Poo: I would love fic or art featuring all of the Chosen Four. You could have them relaxing during some downtime between missions, or possibly have them meet up again after the end of the game: a celebration of an anniversary, organizing against a new threat, or maybe it's just a pleasant picnic. Go wild!
Steven Universe
I'm so glad this show is starting back up again! It's a cheery, colorful show with a lot of humor and heart.
Amethyst & Vidalia: I have been craving this ever since Onion Friend. What kinds of adventures did these two have before Steven? I bet it must've been a barrel of laughs. Whether it's making art or making trouble, I want to see it. Like, they've had to prank Greg about a zillion times by now, right? And what about all those paintings Vidalia did? Does any one of them have a special story behind it?
Mayor Bill Dewey/Pearl: Ahaha, I think this is like, considered the worst SU ship? But I have fond feelings for it. I mostly ship it as one-sided on Dewey's part, but if you can see Pearl as reciprocating somehow, that's fine too. Just remember that they're both different characters from different worlds; I imagine both of their preconceptions on what a relationship is would need to change in order for it to work. Uh, prompts! What if Dewey takes Pearl on a date, but due to being an alien, she doesn't realize it, and messes everything up? Would Dewey feel bad about unintentionally misleading Pearl?
Peridot & Steven Universe: Okay, fair warning: I know some weighty stuff is gonna happen regarding the Steven Bomb, so I just want to let you know that I am okay with fic based before and after this week's episodes. (Actually, it looks this has passed for now, but my offer still stands.) Anyway, I like the timid friendship between the two. Steven is probably Peridot's first true friend, which is a little sad if you think about it. Prompts if you need 'em: Steven takes Peridot on a trip to a museum to experience human culture! Or maybe he just shows her around town. Maybe you'd prefer a darker turn? Go nuts!
Brain Guzzlers from Beyond!
This was a really good game, basically just this amazing old/middle school text adventure. I really loved it! Comedy, action, it had it all.
Jenny Yoshida & Mary Jane Minsky OR Jenny/Mary Jane: Honestly I think you could read this relationship as shippy or platonic; Jenny's line about dodging curfews when you tell her to go Minsky's certainly made me raise an eyebrow. Anyway, how did these two supposed opposites meet, anyway? Was there baking science involved? And how did they deal with Mary Jane's dad, anyway?
Renee Finch & Bonnie Noodleman: I just wanna see these two geek out over comic books and science fiction. Maybe they could write Poppy, Girl of the Galaxy fanfiction? (Or draw fanart?) What happens when Renee finds out Bonnie only likes one comic book series? Would she try to get her to read more?
Birdland
Best game of IF Comp 2015? I sure think so! I love the interactions between all the campers, the weird going-ons at the camp, etc.
Bridget Leaside/Bellwoods W. Park: I would like another mystery starring these guys, if you please! Something weird and wacky, like what happened in this game or Bell Park, Youth Detective, or perhaps something more mundane, like one of the mysteries you hear about in your conversations with Bell. How does Bridget help her girlfriend solve mysteries? Is Bell comfortable with Bridget around a case? Or you could do something with Bell and Bridget trying to keep their relationship a secret while at camp. And what about Liz?
Bridget Leaside & Zoe Price: I loved Zoe's little pep talk with Bridget; she seems like a very caring person, in her own way. Maybe she's a bit too brash to help Bridget out much, at least at that point in the game, but she's certainly trying to make a connection there. For prompts: Zoe and Bridget have to work together on a camp activity, but they're having trouble. Is Bridget cranky about having to do it? Is Zoe? How do they find the strength to succeed?
Undertale
Aww yiss, Undertale! What brings me back to this game is its great sense of humor and its winning cast of characters and a whole bunch of other stuff. One of the things I like to see most in this fandom is more stuff based on the neutral endings (as opposed to Pacifist or Genocide), so for most pairings I'll suggest a neutral ending I'd like to see art and fic in.
Mettaton/Papyrus: I love these crazy egomaniacs! Papyrus's crush on Mett is totes adorbs, and I could see Mettaton as the kind of guy who'd care about Papyrus more than he'd like to admit. I could see them meeting up post-pacifist, or maybe you could set something after the ending where Mettaton rules the underworld.For some reason I like to think Mettaton had a crush on Papyrus as a ghost (I think I stole this from somebody on tumblr?) but you don't have to do anything with this if you don't want to.
W. D. Gaster & Papyrus & Sans: I am super curious about this Gaster guy and his relationship to the skelebros. Who is he, anyway? And where did Papyrus and Sans come from? I personally eat up dark interpretations of Gaster with a spoon, but I like nice versions of him as well. I like the interpretation of Sans and Papyrus as his science experiments, but you can throw that out if you like. As for prompts, hmm, well, depicting Gaster's rise and fall (into the core) would probably be too much for a short fic/art exchange... How about him creating Papyrus and Sans, if you choose to go down that route? Or giving Sans his weird time manipulation powers? And do Sans and Papyrus remember him now, anyway? How much?
Papyrus & Undyne: OH YEAAH!! I'd love to see an expansion on their relationship from before Frisk fell down, but something about them hanging out post-pacifist would be cool too. I remember seeing a gaming webcomic about Undertale's loss to Rocket League where Undyne and Papyrus ending up playing that game; somehow I feel fic or art about them playing games together would be rad. (Undyne would get so many high scores.) Or what about the neutral ending where you spare Undyne but not Toriel? You could show Papyrus adjusting to his new job at The Most Important Royal Position(tm)! Or how about the Queen Toriel neutral ending where you don't befriend Undyne? Do she and Papyrus have any wacky schemes for capturing Frisk? Okay, I'm gonna stop now.
