A hot take on the new Lupin III series

(Note: I've only watched episodes 1 and 2 of the new series. Just in case you need to know.)
My hot take on the new Lupin III series is that it's pretty good! A rare (or at least uncommon) modern update that keeps the feel of the old while doing something new.
If you want more details than that...
I like the characterization of this series a lot more than I did The Woman Called Fujiko Mine. There everybody seemed just a little too much of a jerk for my tastes. While the characterization here is pretty meat-and-potatoes (Fujiko as the femme fatale, Jigen as the cynical gunman, Goemon as the perpetually peeved samurai straight-man, etc.), the writing made it all hang together nicely.
I'm also warming up to the new character, Rebecca Rosselini(SP?). I'm not gonna claim she represents a great blow for feminism or anything, but at least she's a character archetype I can stand, which is more than I can say for a lot of anime gals. I'm really interested in where her hyper-overacchiever personality will take the series, and I hope she has a bigger part to play in the episodes to come.
Overall I'd recommend this one, especially if you're already a fan of the characters.
