A post about the shadow me
Jan. 22nd, 2015 12:16 amI don't know how many of you guys know me from outside of LiveJournal, or know me from Adam, or know me at all, or if "you guys" are just an imaginary audience that I use to keep myself from feeling like I'm screaming into the void BUUUT
healyg is not the first LJ handle I would have chosen if I had my druthers. Pretty much everywhere but here I'm known as simply Healy, no G; very rarely I would have added a "theHealslime" onto that, but that's it. (Why didn't I just do that with this journal? I dunno! Pure impulse.) Here, though, some bint stole that username from me, God-knows-how-long-ago. I didn't think much of it at the time, but now, about 3 months later, I gotta wonder: who was that guy who took my rightful namesake from me? What separates the
healy from the
healyg?
About 10 years, it turns out.

Good gravy, what is up with this guy's grammar?? Who uses semi-colons for apostrophes? And the spelling in the third entry from the top... terrible!
Looking at his profile page, apparently he's based in the UK? And his name is Mike? Under his interests he only listed one thing, ice hockey. Perhaps he was really dedicated about it. Or maybe he just didn't bother putting anything else down. Checking back a page, it looks like some other user made the account for him; maybe his sister? It's hard to tell, since her account has been deleted.
It's a pretty typical teenage LiveJournal, really: awful spelling, whining about school, calling things "gay", etc. There are multiple references to friends and family that assumes you're already familiar with them. The two I'm most interested in are two girls, Laura and Kathryn. (Kate?) They behave in ways I can only describe as flirty towards Mike (Kate does up his buttons and messes with his tie; Laura once ran off with his phone and shoved it down her top), yet he doesn't really seem to notice, and it doesn't seem like they're rivaling for his attention. He acts more brotherly towards them than anything. They've gotta be relatives of his, right? Like maybe his sisters? Or his cousins?
There's something melancholic about the way the journal drops out suddenly at the end. Probably he got bored with the whole thing; he doesn't seem too enthused by the whole endeavor. There's a mention of college, so Mike was probably about to graduate or a year away from it; that would make him only a couple years older than me. It reminds me of when I was in high school back then, and how much I hated it, too. It also make me wonder how Mike's doing right now. Is he alive? Dead? Did he become a pro-hockey player? Is he just scraping by? Is he now cousin-married? Did he get any better at spelling? Quite likely I'll never know.
Possibly his LJ will get deleted somehow, and this post will be the only record of it. Or maybe my journal will get deleted, and the only Healy around here will be him. Perhaps we'll both go out. Who can say for sure? Anyway I hope you enjoyed my stalking of an internet stranger see ya
